Kaia's two main sponsors Tallink and Infortar announced that they end supporting her due to the "unresolvable differences" about the team's future. The same day, manager Enn Pant and trainer Mait Künnap announced that they were quitting working with Kanepi.
A few months ago, Enn Pant declared: "The success came with her hard work and dedication and the strong support of the whole team. At the same time it is also important to have a stabile and continuous cooperation with sponsors for building a successful career in the world of sports. With this we are going to support Kaia also in the future". The wind turns so fast!

AS Tallink Grupp sponsored Kaia Kanepi with 1,5 million Estonian kroons (96 000 euros), AS Infortar added 400 000 kroons (25 620 euros) for one year.
Other major sponsors of Kanepi are Merko and the Estonian Tennis Federation.

Kaia Kanepi reached her highest ranking in WTA in May 2009 by being 18th. Since then, she lost twelve matches in first rounds in various tournaments and is now ranked 61st.
